Overview

The Tilicho Lake Trek takes you deep into the heart of the Annapurna region, leading to one of the world’s highest lakes, Tilicho Lake (4,919m). This breathtaking journey combines scenic mountain trails, diverse landscapes, and cultural encounters with local Gurung and Manang communities. Known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by towering peaks, Tilicho Lake is a true Himalayan gem and a must-visit for trekking enthusiasts seeking both adventure and tranquility.

Trek Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging – requires good fitness and acclimatization
Best Seasons: Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November)
Accommodation: Teahouses and guesthouses at Manang and Tilicho Base Camp
Permits Required: Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card

Itinerary

Early morning scenic drive from Kathmandu through Besisahar to Manang. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views, rivers, and lush valleys along the way. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Manang.

Start your trek from Manang village, following the trail through Khangsar village and the stunning landscapes of the Annapurna region. The path offers views of Gangapurna, Annapurna II, and Tilicho Peak. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.

After visiting the beautiful Tilicho Lake, return to Manang for the night. You’ll stay in a comfortable teahouse with hot meals, cozy dining areas, and warm hospitality to help you recover from the long trek.
